2. First Eritrean Civil War
February 1972 - October 1974 : was fought by the ELF against the nascent organizations of the Popular Liberation Forces that were formerly under the command of the ELF and the Obel group.

3. Second Eritrean Civil War
The Second Eritrean Civil War was fought from 1980 to 1981 between the Marxist Eritrean People's Liberation Front and the Eritrean Liberation Front. Both were militarly organized movements that sought the independence of Eritrea from Ethiopia. The Eritrean Liberation Front was defeated and expelled from Eritrea.
